Herbal medicine has been with us since the beginning of time. For many thousands of years, it was the only medicine available. Herbal remedies developed as people experimented with plants and shared their findings.
There are herbs to treat everything that can go wrong with man. What amazes me is the number of herbs that treat the same thing - every continent and every climate area has it’s own native herbs.
Today, I think our bodies are so clogged up with sugars and chemicals that the natural remedies for serious problems do not work as well and often we have to resort to antibiotics etc. But back in the time when there was nothing else herbs helped us fight bacteria and viruses, healed bones, brought down fevers and stopped heavy bleeding.
We can still access all these herbs and make our own natural remedies to help us live more comfortable lives. I would rather prevent a cold that suffer through one.
Herbal teas are available on-line and in many shopping centres and many herbs can be grown at home, even in pots.
One of my favorites is Aloe Vera.
In it’s natural form, straight from the garden, it has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. There are several different types, some stronger than others. The commercial gels and creams are not very good compared to the fresh plant.
Use is against bacterial and FUNGAL infections and to stop bleeding.
Use it on your skin, even your face for - oily skin, curing pimples, moisturising dry skin, reducing wrinkles, soothing irritated skin, calming sunburn.
Use in on your hair for - improving health of hair follicles, faster hair growth, heal scalp injuries, and for oily hair.
Use the gel for the burns you get in the kitchen, even a burned tongue from hot food - and for sunburn. Simple burns heal up quickly.
Don’t use aloe if you’re allergic to garlic, onions, or tulips.
